Duct Tape Wallets
Did you know that astronauts on Apollo 17 used duct tape to repair a broken fender on their Lunar Roving Vehicle (or moonbuggy?) Duct tape can be used for so many things. The sky is the limit. Over the next two days, students in 4th and 5th grade will be dropping by to make duct tape wallets to hold their library cards. Students will use challenge cards and a video to follow the steps to making a wallet. When the wallet is complete and time permits, students will write in a journal about their experience. What was most difficult? What did they like the most? What would they do differently if they were to make another one? Lastly, students will draw an item that they believe could be designed using duct tape. The best part, the students will have a wallet to take home with them.
